Start with pathway and urgency
Write the specialty or service requested by an appropriate clinician, what records are available, the timing, language needs, insurance status, and likely follow-up. A directory cannot diagnose the problem or select treatment. For emergencies, comparison must not delay care.
Large hospital brands may operate multiple campuses with different departments and hours. Confirm that the specific campus can provide the relevant service and whether an appointment, referral, or emergency entry is appropriate.
Verify the named clinician and scope
The Medical Council of Thailand provides an English public search for active licensed physicians. Search the name carefully and ask the provider to clarify spelling or licence information when needed. Licence status is a baseline; it does not prove fit for every procedure or measure outcomes.
Request a written estimate that identifies provisional items, deposits, imaging, laboratory, facility, clinician, medication, accommodation, and follow-up costs where applicable. Ask what findings can change the plan and who authorizes added cost.
- Exact campus and department
- Named clinician or assignment
- Official licence check
- Written estimate with uncertainty
Plan records and continuity
Confirm the official channel for sending records and who reviews them. Do not send medical information to an unverified personal account. Ask how to obtain consultation notes, results, imaging, prescriptions, invoices, and discharge or aftercare instructions.
Before leaving the area or Thailand, know who handles questions, complications, refills, and local follow-up. Convenience services and international desks are useful operational evidence, not substitutes for clinical suitability.
Build the two-provider comparison
Use the same factual brief for each provider; do not ask the directory to recommend treatment.
- 1Write the service, timing, records, language, and insurer brief.
- 2Create matching fields for campus, department, and clinician process.
- 3Add the official physician-search link and the name spelling to verify.
- 4Draft the estimate, records, and follow-up questions for both providers.
Output: A like-for-like provider ledger with unresolved clinical questions reserved for clinicians.
