The Tourist Police publishes 1669 for emergency medical response, 191 for police, and 1155 for Tourist Police assistance. A hotel desk, insurer, embassy, or clinic can help with coordination, but they do not replace emergency services when immediate help is required.

Know the exact address and map pin where you sleep and spend time. In a large condominium, resort, island, park, or highway location, record building, floor, room, gate, beach, trail, or landmark details that responders can actually use.

Include name as in passport, date of birth, allergies, critical conditions, current medicines with generic names and doses, implants or devices where relevant, blood-type information only if reliably documented, insurer and assistance number, and emergency contact. Translate or simplify only with appropriate professional support.

Keep medication in original or clearly labelled packaging and carry the prescription or clinician letter when needed. Check official import guidance for controlled or restricted products before travel rather than relying on a general packing list.

Agree who calls, who brings the document packet, who contacts the insurer, and who stays with children or dependent travellers. A solo traveller should identify a local contact or accommodation channel and a trusted person abroad who can access the minimum recovery file.

This preparation does not determine which symptoms are an emergency. When urgent or severe symptoms occur, seek appropriate emergency care rather than delaying to compare prices or directory listings.
