Name each layer correctly
Entry questions become dangerous when different documents are treated as synonyms. A visa can authorize travel to request entry; an exemption can allow eligible travellers to arrive without first obtaining a visa; Visa on Arrival is a separate process for eligible travellers; TDAC is arrival information; and the period actually granted is determined at the border.
Your airline may also check travel documents before boarding. Build the file around the exact passport you will carry, because nationality, passport type, where you apply, trip purpose, and intended stay can change the route.
Policy can move between planning and travel
Thailand reviewed exemption and Visa on Arrival policy in 2026. That is a reminder to distrust undated tables and cached snippets. A search result can describe an announcement, a proposed effective date, an older rule, or a rule that applies to a different passport.
Use official sources, then check again before a non-refundable decision and close to departure. Save the URL, date, and the relevant page or confirmation. If the case is unusual, ask the responsible embassy, consulate, immigration authority, or qualified adviser rather than trying to infer eligibility from another traveller.

Write unresolved questions plainly. ‘I do not know whether this activity is permitted’ is safer than selecting the easiest-sounding category. Do not misstate purpose, employment, address, funds, or travel history to make a route appear simpler.
