About this place
Uthai Thani Old Town is a historic riverside community along the Sakae Krang River, located within the Uthai Thani Municipality in Uthai Thani Province. It boasts a long history and has impressively preserved its traditional way of life. This community was once a central hub for trade and transportation, where Thai, Chinese, and Lao people lived together, creating a charming blend of cultures. Along both sides of Sri Uthai Road, the main street of the old town area, you’ll find wooden houses over 80 to 100 years old. Most are one- or two-story wooden buildings featuring intricately carved patterns that have been carefully preserved. Some of these houses have been converted into shops, cafes, or small museums warmly welcoming visitors. With its simple and unhurried atmosphere, visitors can experience the “scent of the past” that still lingers in every corner.
