Sukhothai Historical Park is located across from the Ramkhamhaeng National Museum, about 12 kilometers west of Sukhothai Province, along Highway 12 (Sukhothai-Tak). In the past, Sukhothai was the capital of Thailand and was a center of governance, religion, and economy. The park contains significant sites including royal palaces, religious sites, and ancient ruins, all enclosed by city moats, city walls, and ancient gates in a square layout. The area of the historical park covers more than 70 square kilometers and is home to many important and fascinating historical sites.
