Wiang Phu Piang Chaeng Haeng is one of the important ancient cities in Nan Province, located in Phu Piang District on the eastern side of the Nan River, directly opposite the current Nan town area. The most significant historical site in this city is Wat Phra That Chaeng Haeng, which has long been the religious and cultural center of Phu Piang. Besides the prominent stupa, Wiang Phu Piang Chaeng Haeng also includes other ancient structures such as the Royal Viharn, the Viharn Phra Chao Than Jai, and various stupas, featuring Lanna architecture blended harmoniously with Sukhothai and Burmese artistic styles. These reflect the former prosperity of Wiang Phu Piang. Today, Wiang Phu Piang Chaeng Haeng serves as both a cultural tourist attraction and a spiritual center for the people of Nan. Visitors often come to pay respects to the stupa for good fortune, especially those born in the Year of the Rabbit, who believe they will receive special blessings.
