How to report a closed or moved place

Send a correction an editor can verify quickly without exposing personal information.

Short answer

Short answer

Name the exact branch, state the single fact that appears wrong, include when you observed it, and attach a public source when available. Do not include private messages, personal phone numbers, or unrelated accusations.

Report one checkable fact at a time

Corrections move faster when the editor can tell exactly what must be tested. Useful examples include permanently closed, temporarily closed, moved to a new address, phone disconnected, website changed, or category mismatch.

Avoid interpreting a locked door at one moment as permanent closure. Include the date, approximate time, signage, and whether another current channel confirms the change.

Use evidence that can be safely reviewed

A public announcement, official page, current website, or clear photo of public signage can help. Do not upload identity documents, private conversations, customer records, medical information, or a staff member's personal contact details.

  • Exact listing and branch
  • Field that needs correction
  • Observed or published date
  • Neutral description
  • Public evidence link when available
  • No sensitive personal data

Let status remain uncertain when it is uncertain

Editors may mark a detail for recheck while evidence conflicts. That is more honest than forcing an immediate open-or-closed verdict. Owners can respond with evidence, but cannot buy the removal of a documented correction.

Common questions

Will my report appear instantly?
No. Reports enter a moderation and verification queue before they can affect a public listing.
Can I report a bad customer experience?
The correction form is for checkable listing facts. A specific community discussion may be more appropriate for experience, provided it follows the forum rules.
Can a business owner submit a correction?
Yes. Owner evidence is reviewed under the same factual standards and does not automatically change organic rank.
